A catch-all email mailbox is one that gathers all the messages sent to invalid addresses. For instance, if your address is info@domain.com, but someone miswrites it and sends an email to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Just one single mailbox per domain name can have this feature activated and in this way you will never miss messages because the other party has an obsolete address or has made a typo. The disadvantage of setting up a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving lots of spam, but this issue can be fixed using anti-spam filtering software. It is also important to bear in mind that a mailbox with an activated catch-all functionality cannot forward incoming emails to a third-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Website Hosting

Configuring a catch-all mailbox will be surprisingly easy in case you have a Linux shared website hosting with us. You can enable the feature through our advanced, albeit simple-to-work-with Email Manager tool, which is an essential part of the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, via which you’ll manage the hosting account itself. You will see all the mailboxes that you have created shown alphabetically and next to each one there will be a small-size "Catch-all" icon, which will instantaneously inform you whether a specific mailbox stores all the messages associated with a certain domain name or not. With one mouse click on the icon you can activate or deactivate the feature at any time. If there’s active email forwarding or in case some other mailbox has already been set up as a catch-all one for a certain domain name, you’ll get an alert from our system. The latter won’t deactivate/replace anything automatically or without your permission.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

A catch-all email address can be configured with a few clicks of the mouse in case you have a Linux semi-dedicated hosting plan with us. The semi-dedicated account will be managed via our custom Hepsia Control Panel and you’ll be able to set up mailboxes with any domain hosted here. To enable the catch-all functionality for a mailbox, you’ll have to click on the logo with the exact same name, which will be next to each mailbox. Disabling this feature can be achieved in the exact same manner and will not take more than one click either. In case a catch-all mailbox has already been enabled for a certain domain name, you’ll receive a warning. The same goes if the mailbox that you want to be a catch-all one has email forwarding enabled, as our system will never alter or disable any feature automatically.
